Awka United Eye Victory At MFM - Ariwachukwu
The Promise Keepers travel to Lagos to take on the Olukoya boys and the defender believes they are capable of usurping them
Having enjoyed a decent away form in the Nigerian topflight this season, Akwa United's Emmanuel Ariwachukwu fancies his side's chances against MFM.
The Promise Keepers commence the second round of the topflight campaign with a visit to the Agege Township Stadium on May 21.
And the central defender is confident of their credentials to pick maximum points from the Olukoya Boys.
“We shall give MFM the respect they deserve but that doesn’t mean we won't be going there to play for three points. At this stage we understand what we need to do in order to compete with the best,” Ariwachukwu said.
“The team is picking up momentum, the results of our past six matches are testaments, that alone boosts our confidence. The coach [Abdu Maikaba] has instilled confidence in us. He always push us to play football. That's enough encouragement for us.
